The ORCC Warbird Fun Fly was a smashing success. The weather was hot and sunny with calm winds in the morning. The winds picked up a little bit into the afternoon but all in
all it was a great day for the pilots to show off their warbirds.
This show was an eclectic mix of scale warbirds and various varieties of airplanes from the interesting to the sublime.
What really stole the show for me and probably some other people was Tony's flying witch on a broomstick combination kite-R/C plane.

Rain, rain go away! That's what I was thinking when I was at the Ottawa Valley Zone Fun Fly at the Smiths Falls airport. The weather may have been cool and rainy but the
organizers and pilots put on a great show.
This show had everything from scale R/C planes to radio controlled jets and helicopters and even a control line demonstration by Michael McMahon, wowing the crowd with some fancy
flying.
Check out the pictures in the photo gallery where people are running away from the smoke cloud from a full size Pitts airplane who turned his smoke system on when taxiing around.

I attended the IMAA District XII Mini Fest at the Arnprior Radio Control Club. Lots of pilots and spectators turned out for this exciting event. The weather even co-operated
and was just a touch on the cool side, except for gusty wind conditions.
The spectators were entertained by large scale warbirds as well as scale civilian aircraft and there were even two Piper Cubs flying in formation including stunt flying.
Fred said the chili was good but he prefers his a little bit spicier. ;-)
